Campden House Court

All residents and tenants, together with the Garden Committee are responsible for upholding the garden rules which were established by the bye-laws.

Rules and
General Information

  • Dogs are welcome in the garden but must be kept on a lead, and their mess picked up and disposed of outside the garden. Dogs are not permitted to roam freely in the garden, off-lead or unsupervised. Persistent offenders may be banned from bringing their dogs into the garden.

  • Please dispose of all food and rubbish (by taking it home).

  • Amplified music is not permitted in the garden

  • Children may play anywhere except in the Quiet Garden. They should be always supervised and their toys put away at the end of the day. Toys consistently left lying around may be removed and given to a local charity or otherwise disposed of.

  • No tree climbing or walking through the flowerbeds, and no picking of the flowers.

  • Heavy ball games are not allowed, as they cause damage to the grass, flowers, plants, and automatic water sprinklers. Please make sure your children do not play with large balls. The responsibility is with you and the obligation you owe it to the other residents around the garden. Croquet set and ping pong table are provided for your use – please treat them with care and enjoy!

  • Please do not use garden furniture for climbing on or as goalposts in football games. The furniture is for the enjoyment of everyone, and the benches and chairs have sadly been damaged from misuse over the years.

  • Children’s bikes are permitted in the garden, but may only be ridden on the paths, and not on the grass as this causes damage.

  • Bouncy castles or similar are not permitted

  • Please do not dispose of trees, plants, or other waste in the compost heap next to the sheds at the western boundary of the garden. This area is for the gardeners for plants and shrubs which have been removed from the communal gardens before they are taken for disposal.

  • Please arrange with the council to collect your private garden waste.

  • You are welcome to hold small parties in the garden, so long as this does not prevent other people from enjoying the garden at the same time. Large parties (i.e. those involving 20 or more people) and children’s birthday parties require permission from the Secretary of the Garden Committee, and permission must be applied for at least two weeks in advance.

  • Marquees are not permitted, and there should be no loud music, fireworks, or other excessive noise, and all bottles, glasses and general litter should be removed at the end of the party. Please ensure you write to the secretary at the address at the bottom of this newsletter.

Residents are reminded that the committee has the power to deny access to the garden to those who persistently break the rules and disregard other users.
